This is a fork of some really old WeeChat script, modernized to use playerctl. You can use the old install instructions.

Old README:

This prints the currently playing song in mpd to a weechat buffer. Allows custom now playing format and coloring. Requires access to mpc.

To install, place in $WEECHAT_HOME/perl or in the autoload subdirectory. Invoke using /np
